Work in the Vineyard
Four Seasons in the Vineyard
A light breeze blows over each grape, the sun caresses the growing shoots with its rays, and a family of bumblebees cleans the leaves from pest larvae. This is how your harvest is born!
However, let’s put aside all the magazine glamour. Viticulture is hard manual and machine labour, including pruning vines when it is cold and rainy. This is the manual harvesting of last year's shoots over the winter, the removal of off-shoots in spring, the alignment of rows under the burning rays of the sun in summer ... Incredible stresses dominate April, when the threat of late frosts looms – and with it the possibility that the entire harvest could be destroyed. Viticulture is hard agricultural work. It is a true story of one harvest as it is.
